| The Indian Law Institute (ILI) was founded in 1956 primarily with the objective of promoting and conducting legal research. It was established as a result of the efforts of the leading jurists of India for over a number of yeaes.
It was granted Deemed University status in 2004 by Government of India, Ministry of HRD Notification No. F.9-9/2001-U.3 dated 29-10-2004

The objective of the institute are to cultivate the science of law, to promote advanced studies and research in law so as to meet the social, economic and other needs of the indian people, to promote systemization of law, to encourage and conduct investigation in legal and allied fields, to improve legal education, to import instruction in law, and publish studies, books, periodicals etc. |
